Gold Coast’s Lockie McHugh will be aiming for his sixth win of the season when he tackles Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway this Saturday night for the ‘Rumble on the Mountain’.
McHugh’s start to this season has been nothing short of extraordinary onboard the Hi-Tec Oils ECP Racing NQ7. Last weekend he was untroubled in the feature race at Archerfield Speedway, beating home Callum Walker and Luke Oldfield who’s had an equally impressive and consistent start to the season, finishing on the podium countless times.
Along with the likes of Lockie McHugh, Luke Oldfield, Brent Kratzmann and Cody Maroske, the field is bolstered by former Queensland champion Mitchell Gee who’ll pilot the Brodie Tulloch Q74 this Saturday night. In total, a field of twenty two drivers will tackle Toowoomba.
A stout field of twenty Modified Sedans will contest what becomes the opening round of the Steering & Suspension Warehouse Series after round one was lost to rain. Former National Champions Aidan Raymont, Max Clarke and Greg Worling will be joined by former state champions Brodie Boss, Shane MacDonald and Rodney Pammenter. These guys will be all trying to catch Darran Lester who’s been in impressive form this season capturing numerous wins including a win amongst an impressive field at Kingaroy last month.
Although the Midget numbers are somewhat down, a quality line up of twelve drivers have nominated. Darren Vine returns to Toowoomba after his win back in October and leads the field of drivers that includes Rusty Whittaker, Jordan MacKay, Brodie Tulloch who’ll again complete double duty and Nathan Mathers who fresh from another podium among the Speedcar ranks this season.
Over twenty Wingless Sprints, a dozen Lightning Sprints plus the inclusion of Formula 500’s and Junior Formula 500’s make up the massive program that kicks off from approx. 5pm.
