SOUTH AUSSIE SUTHERLAND TOOWOOMBA BOUND

Mount Gambier’s Glen Sutherland will continue his lightning tour of Queensland at Toowoomba’s Hi-Tec Oils Speedway this Saturday.

Teaming up with famed crew chief Glen Beaton and long time crew member Kent Collins, Sutherland will be well suited to the high-speed bullring at Toowoomba and after his breakthrough win last season at his home track of Borderline Speedway, his confidence has never been higher.

“That was a great win for us and it just shows how comfortable I am with Glen setting up the car. Bringing him on has been fantastic, not just for my racing, but it has also allowed me to spend more time with my family, and be more focussed on my role in the family business, Gambier Earth Movers. It was the next step for us and it’s already made a massive difference.”

Despite a slow start at Archerfield last Saturday, Sutherland advanced from the B Main to finish 10th and will be aiming to qualify higher this Saturday at Toowoomba to make the night a little easier.

“We’re really looking forward to getting up to Tbar. I raced there just once quite a few years ago so it’s a different place now I hear, so it should be good fun.

Tickets are now available at www.speedwaytickets.com.au for the September 23 event, with action from 6pm. For more details check out toowoombaspeedway.com and the Hi-Tec Oils Speedway Facebook page for daily updates.
