TOOWOOMBA TITANS ARE PRIMED FOR MODIFIED SEDAN INVASION
No less than fifteen local Modified Sedan drivers make up the impressive list of Modified Sedans that will contest Round 5 of the Ian Boettcher Race Parts Golden Helmet Series being held at Hi-Tec Oils Speedway in Toowoomba this Saturday night.
Our fifteen locals are being led by series leader Rodney Pammenter who has stamped his dominance on the darling downs venue this season. This season, Rodney Pammenter has been undefeated at the venue winning rounds 1 including all of the qualifying heat races and was on his way to doing the same at round 4 last month, until it was prematurely cancelled after the damage was sustained to the catch fence during that B Main Sprintcar crash at the World Series Sprintcar event. With the biggest field of the season (thirty three drivers) entered for the second last round of the series and with a few series regulars out of action for various reasons, will give everyone a great opportunity including the locals a chance to jump up the leader board as they all aim to win the series and that coveted Golden Helmet which is an all-expenses paid Super Sedan drive with the Ian Boettcher Race Parts team.
Joining the local brigade for the first time this season will be Tim Smith, Kerry Lack, Mick Langton, Robert Trapp and Brad Stein. The Toowoomba titans also welcome back Nathan MacDonald, Matty Smith, Matt and Shane Langton, along with Jason Schloss, Lee Volk, Jason Gray and Wade Cunningham.
Former national Champion Aidan Raymont is welcomed inclusion in the field after debuting his brand new Ford FG Falcon in style at Mothar Mountain Speedway last weekend with a comfortable win. Raymont won his National championship at the Toowoomba venue nearly four years ago and is looking forward to returning this Saturday night.
The current Queensland Champion Gavin Fletcher is determined to turn is run of bad luck around after the first four rounds of the series has seen the black XE Falcon strung in a series of crashes and runs of misfortune. Fletcher will be hoping for a solid run this weekend in readiness for this month’s Kings Royal, the richest Modified Sedan event in the country and an event he has already won two times.
In addition to the Modified Sedan division, Production Sedans make a welcomed return to the venue with quality field of ten drivers. Flying the flag for the locals will be Brody Fraser, Amy Evans and Leon Hockins. Production Sedans are similar by way of the make and model of their Modified Sedan counterparts, however are a more budget version that runs on road radial tyres, and are allowed to do less to their engines modifications. Despite this, Production sedan racing is fiercely contested right around the country and will put on a great show this Saturday night.
All the action gets underway from 5pm this Saturday night and if you can’t make it to the venue to check it out this exciting all sedan program, make sure you catch all the action on clayperview.com.
