SERIES LEADER A LATE ENTRY FOR WILL POWER 500

USC QLD points leader Luke Oldfield has secured a last minute engine to compete in this weekend’s Will Power 500 as part of Hi-Tec Oils Speedway’s Ultimate Pink Night.

The former Queensland Champion couldn’t turn down the opportunity to race in front of potentially the largest crowd of Toowoomba’s season, and was also determined to bank some more points to bolster his lead in the USC QLD points battle.

“I’m only two points ahead of Robbie Farr at the moment, and this weekend he will race in Sydney, so this is a good chance to increase that gap, and give us a buffer for later in the season if anything doesn’t go to plan,” he said, relieved at acquiring an engine just in time for the weekend.

“This probably isn’t as powerful an engine as our main one, but our aim is to just stay out of trouble and push a bit harder if the opportunity arises.”

Oldfield will be joined by another 25 combatants headed by reigning Will Power 500 champion, Peter Lack who currently sits sixth in USC QLD points.

Spectator gates open at 3pm with women of all ages and all kids 12 and under free. Tickets for the men and boys are available online at speedwaytickets.com.au. Check out www.toowoombaspeedway.com or Hi-Tec Oils Speedway on facebook for details.
