Pammenter Lifts the Roof Off with Rumble Win!

Toowoomba's own Rodney Pammenter has claimed a new career highlight by winning the inaugural Dirt Late Model "Roof-Off Rumble" at Toowomba's Hi-Tec Oils Speedway.

The Modified Sedan stalwart took a last minute opportunity from Sydney car owner, Bruce McKenzie to race on his behalf as he had other racing commitments in Goulburn, and after dicing with reigning national champion, Darren Kane in the thirty lap feature, took over the lead as Kane headed infield after dropping a cylinder with less than laps remaining.

"I'm ecstatic, and so thankful to Bruce McKenzie," the local hero exclaimed, after sacrificing an opportunity to run in Kingaroy and continue his Modified Sedan series points chase, in favour of a chance to run the Dirt Late Model.

"The Modified Sedan Series winner gets a run in an Ian Boettcher Super Sedan which would be fantastic but I think this chance is right up there tonight."

Young gun Carter Armstrong claimed yet another podium in second spot over former two-time Street Stock national champion, Tim Bink from Raymond Terrace, NSW.

Maryborough's Scott Thomson led home Robert Mazzer and Adam Butler in the Wingless Sprint "Prelude to the Title", while Aaron Prosser, Terry Leerentveld and Will Butler filled the Mod Lite podium and Charlie Brown, Tristan Johnson and Kristen Brown claimed the top three in the Formula 500's.

The next event at Hi-Tec Oils Speedway is February 6 for round 5 of the Ultimate Sprintcar Championship.
